1981   Launch of Betty Jackson Ltd with David Cohen her husband and business partner

1981   Separates Designer of the Year awarded by Woman Magazine

1983   Cotton Designer of the Year awarded by The Cotton Institute

1984   Dress of the Year selected by Brenda Polan and donated to the BathMuseum of Costume

1985   British Designer of the Year the Fil D'Or awarded by the International Linen Council

1986   Recognised by Business Magazine as one of the top 40 most successful people under 40

1987   Received the M.B.E. (Member of the British Empire) from Her Majesty the Queen in her birthday honours list for services to British industry and exports

1988   Royal Designer for industry awarded by the RSA & became a Fellow of Birmingham University    

1989   Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art

1990   Design Consultant to Marks & Spencer

1991   Betty Jackson Flagship Shop opened

1992   Fellow of University of Central Lancashire

1999   Contemporary Designer of the Year & became Visiting Professor of the Royal College of Art

2000  Selected by Marks & Spencer to design the 'Autograph' Collection

2004   Launched ‘Betty Jackson Two’, the diffusion line

2005   Selected by Debenhams to design ‘Betty Jackson Black’ for the Designers at Debenhams range.

             Elected onto the Board of Trustees at the V&A

             Begins work with the charity ‘Dress for Success’

2007   Awarded the C.B.E. (Commander of the British Empire) by Her Majesty the Queen in her Birthday honours list for services

             to the fashion industry.                 

2008    Requested by the Lord Chief Justice to design a new robe for all civil judges in England & Wales

2010    Elected on the board of Creative Skillset

2011    Awarded an Honorary Doctorate at Huddersfield University

2012   Elected onto the board of Intoart as a Trustee

2015   Elected Master of the Faculty for RDIs
